Walter R. Kafka

Walter R. Kafka, age 93 of Glenwood, IL, passed to his heavenly home on April 15, 2019. He is survived by his sister, Annamae Brown, his loving children: Linda (Bill); Deborah (Pete); Don (Denise); his devoted grandchildren: Greg (Amy); Laura (George); Lisa; Amy (Ryan), Patrick; and Michelle (Kirk). He has 11 cherished great-grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by loving wife, Lucille. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

Walter was a World War II Purple Heart Recipient; worked in tool and design; research and development and as a supervisor at the Ford Motor Company and Continental Can Company for many years. He retired as a Professor from Prairie State College in 1993.

Funeral services will be held at Rosemoor Funeral Home: 17943 S. Torrence Ave, Lansing, IL 60438 on Wednesday, April 24 at 10 AM.  Visitation: Tuesday, April 23, from 3-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter’s memory to: Evergreen Assisted Living, Joliet Hospice or Misericordia which is a community of care for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities. Family will receive gifts and distribute them accordingly.
